NCCER has recognized that there are certain crafts that are either relatively new to the industry or are a compilation of skills from more than one traditional craft. These particular crafts require some additional instructor requirements. Please see the following chart:

Weatherization Fundamentals | Must be certified to teach the Core Curriculum |

Building Auditor Level 2 | - Must be an NCCER-Certified HVAC instructor
- Must pass an instructor exam that covers all non-HVAC modules in the Weatherization program

Wind Turbine Maintenance Tech Level 1 | - Must be an NCCER Certified Electrical instructor;
- Must pass an instructor exam; and
- Must have at least one year of experience in the wind industry.

Safety Orientation | Must be a Construction Site Safety Orientation (CSSO-Instructor); which includes: - Successful Completion of NCCER Field Safety or OSHA 500
- One of the following:
- o Associate’s degree or higher in Safety from an accredited post secondary education instruction; with a minimum of two years of construction experience; or
- o Five years safety experience as a safety trainer, instructor, educator, or safety supervisor in the construction industry; or
- o Journey-level experience in area of expertise.

Field Safety (CSSS)
| Must be a Construction Site Safety Supervisor (CSSS-Instructor); this includes: - Successful completion of NCCER Field Safety and 11 selected modules** from NCCER Safety Technology or OSHA 500
- One of the following:
- o Associate’s degree or higher in Safety from an accredited post secondary education instruction; with a minimum of two years of construction experience; or
- o Five years safety experience as a safety trainer, instructor, educator, or safety supervisor in the construction industry; or
- o Journey-level experience in area of expertise.

Safety Technology For 11 selected modules** (CSST)
| Must be a Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST-Instructor); this includes: - Successful completion of NCCER Field Safety and NCCER Safety Technology or OSHA 500
- One of the following:
- o Associate’s degree or higher in Safety from an accredited post secondary education instruction; with a minimum of two years of construction experience; or
- o Five years safety experience as a safety trainer, instructor, educator, or safety supervisor in the construction industry.

All Safety Technology (CSSM)
| Must be a Construction Site Safety Master (CSSM-Instructor); this includes completing one of the following: - Certification as Certified Safety Professional or Associate Safety Professional; or
- Safety Degree from any Accredited Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET)-approved program and 4 years of professional safety experience; or
- Any degree with a minimum of five years full-time safety experience; or
- Successfully complete NCCER Safety Technology with a minimum of five years full-time safety experience; or
- Minimum of ten years full-time safety experience.

Power Industry Fundamentals | Must be NCCER-certified instructors for the Core Curriculum. |
Power Generation | Must possess NCCER certification as an instructor in a related discipline. |
Power Line Worker: Distribution
| - Must be qualified to teach NCCER Electrical, and
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in the Power Industry

Signal Person
| Anyone qualified to teach the current Rigging Fundamentals, Rigging, Basic Rigger, Intermediate Rigger, Advanced Rigger, and/or Mobile Crane Operations curriculum can be qualified to teach the Signal Person curriculum. |
* All instructors must have successfully completed modules 1-10 of the ICTP and be a CT-ICTP or MT-ICTP.
