Position Descriptions: 

Build Your Future Manager

NCCER has an immediate opening for a Build Your Future Manager. This individual will work in the Build Your Future department and alongside the marketing department. He or she will oversee the day to day activities of NCCER’s Build Your Future program, to include:

  • Manage  the BYF coordinator position
  • Keep NCCER leadership informed on the progress of the BYF mission and goals
  • Communicate and collaborate across the organization to accomplish  the BYF mission and  goals
  • Develop, manage and support projects, career events, tradeshows, activities, initiatives and presentations that positively impact BYF and NCCER
    • Plan and execute BYF activities, as needed, that expand BYF’s footprint
    • Develop and support BYF partnerships
    • Develop and manage BYF promotional and support materials and documents as needed
    • Solicit sponsorships, contributions and/or donations, as needed, to support BYF activities
  • Effectively manage the BYF budget
  • Plan and manage events
  • Research target markets: trade trends, prospective business partnerships, and others as needed
  • Travel as needed to meet the needs of the BYF program
  • Effectively present BYF related messages at all appropriate events as needed
  • Assist in the creation of magazine articles, blogs, and press releases supporting BYF

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least two years of documented management and supervisory experience
  • Prior background in fundraising, business development  or sales management is a plus
  • Experience in event planning and execution
  • Experience and/or education in human resources, marketing, nonprofit management, or a business-related field
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate to a diverse audience ranging from high school students, military personnel, executives and/or government officials
  • Exceptional Project Management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional written skills
  • Proven experience working in a multi-task, detail oriented, and deadline-driven environment
  • Creativity, initiative, dependability and good judgment are essential
  • Strong background in social media and digital marketing

Administrative Assistant

NCCER has an immediate opening for an administrative assistant. This individual will work in the marketing department, and his or her major job responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to marketing and Build Your Future
  • Coordinate and manage departmental communications, including meetings and minutes
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights, hotels and cars with travel agent and prepare itineraries for traveling team members
  • Prepare travel expense reports for marketing and Build Your Future
  • Research conference dates and details
  • Maintain tradeshow calendar for organization
  • Coordinate with individuals (internally) who will be attending conferences
  • Coordinate conference logistics, including setup, shipping, tear down and registration
  • Pack and prepare conference materials for shipping
  • Unpack and return items to inventory, making sure they are in good condition
  • Track conference expenses
  • Track and update inventory, restocking supplies when necessary
  • Respond to requests (internal and external) for materials and resources
  • Daily monitoring of marketing email account and responding to or delegating requests
  • Assemble sample kits, trading cards and requested marketing collateral

Qualifications:

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Be detail oriented, organized and professional with the ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities and meet deadlines
  • General clerical and excellent telephone skills are a must
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of executives, management and staff is essential
  • Experience with travel, meeting planning and committee management are a plus
  • Dependable in attendance and performance
