Greenia-Signing-Day-2018-300The excitement builds … which career path is the student going to take? The student decides and signs up to start on a path to a successful career in construction! Recently, the Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA) held a Signing Day for high school students choosing to enter the construction industry. The three-day event spanned two locations (Midland and Lansing, Michigan), as 21 students signed their intent to take the next step toward a successful career by attending GMCA in the fall. The GMCA facilitates opportunities for career growth in the construction industry through continuing education programs targeting craft workers, foremen, supervisors, project managers, superintendents and company management. With options such as apprentice training and craft training, students are able to choose the right step for them. NCCER develops standardized construction and maintenance curricula and assessments with portable credentials. These credentials are tracked through NCCER’s National Registry which allows organizations and companies to track the qualifications of their craft professionals and/or check the qualifications of possible new hires. The National Registry also assists craft professionals by maintaining their records in a secure database.
