NCCER HVACR Curriculum Receives New Name and Design

07/07/2022 Press Release

nccer cover hvacr 350x452The sixth edition of the National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) curriculum is now available and features a new design and name. Last updated in 2018, the title is now HVACR to reflect the coverage of refrigeration within several modules of the curriculum.

HVACR is one of the most popular of NCCER’s curricula and features some major design updates based on customer usage and market demand. These include enhanced digital components with videos — accessible by QR code and in the NCCERconnect platform — as well as a robust self-guided learning course on NCCERconnect.

The curriculum contains relevant on-the-job case studies, enhanced electrical safety content and updated technology and equipment. In addition, the curriculum also meets HVAC Excellence accreditation standards to prepare trainees to sit for HVAC Excellence certification tests.

To learn more about these updates, join the upcoming HVACR webinar with NCCER Project Manager Lauren Corley and NCCER Technical Writer Troy Staton. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 2 p.m. EST.

To order the sixth edition, contact your Pearson executive director. As a reminder, it can take 4-6 weeks after a title’s release for it to become available in NCCERconnect. This is expected in late summer to early fall.

NCCER develops and distributes its curricula in partnership with the world’s leading learning company, Pearson, and ensures that it complies with the Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship requirements for time-based training. Individuals who successfully complete these training programs through an NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor will earn industry-recognized credentials through the NCCER Registry System.
