There are many ways to get involved with NCCER and help build tomorrow’s skilled craft workforce. NCCER changes lives by serving as the bridge to the construction industry, connecting new learners to the skills, credentials, career opportunities and volunteer-powered support systems that build and lead the workforce. You can volunteer as a Subject Matter Expert or Industry Ambassador, serve on one of NCCER’s industry advisory committees, or support our image enhancement, recruitment and career-building initiatives.

Opportunities to Volunteer

Subject Matter Experts

Support the industry behind the scenes. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) play a critical role in shaping NCCER’s curriculum, assessments and programs by contributing their technical expertise. SMEs help develop and review content, validate knowledge and hands-on test measurement tools, and ensure NCCER resources stay accurate, relevant and aligned with real-world industry needs.

Industry Ambassadors

Show up where it matters most. Industry Ambassadors step into classrooms and communities to serve as a bridge between curiosity and possibility, sharing their experiences, stories and passion to inspire the next generation. They represent the industry, connect students and job seekers to real opportunities and help guide new learners toward meaningful careers in construction.

NCCER's Committees

Provide valuable industry insight on one of NCCER’s standing committees: Safety, Pipeline and Workforce Development.
