NCCER Welcomes Stephanie Watts as Director of Philanthropy and Partnership

07/15/2026 Press Release

ALACHUA, Fla. — July 15, 2026 — The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is pleased to announce that Stephanie Watts has joined the organization as Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships.

“The success of our industry ultimately comes down to people,” said Boyd Worsham, President and CEO of NCCER. “Every opportunity we create through construction education has the potential to change a life. Stephanie has spent her career helping organizations connect passionate supporters with meaningful missions. That experience will be invaluable as NCCER expands opportunities for individuals pursuing careers in construction.”

Watts brings nearly two decades of experience in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy and strategic partnerships, serving in leadership roles with the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and most recently the Alzheimer’s Association. Throughout her career, Watts has connected donors and community leaders with opportunities to strengthen mission-focused initiatives, a relationship-driven approach she will bring to her work at NCCER. As Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, Watts will collaborate with industry partners and employers to cultivate support that expands workforce development programs, increases access to construction career pathways and advances NCCER’s mission.

“What excites me most about joining NCCER is the ability to contribute to work that connects high school and postsecondary students with rewarding pathways, supports veterans as they transition into civilian careers and encourages more women to pursue roles in construction,” said Watts. “I’m looking forward to working alongside individuals and organizations who believe in the power of construction education to create lasting, measurable impact.”

As the construction industry faces an ongoing skilled workforce shortage, NCCER continues to expand partnerships and philanthropic initiatives designed to strengthen talent pipelines and create pathways into construction careers. Through strategic partnerships and philanthropic investment, NCCER continues to expand access to construction education and workforce development programs that help individuals build lifelong careers while supporting the industry’s growing need for skilled craft professionals.
