National Center for Construction Education & Research
Workers are exposed to many potentially life-threatening hazards on job sites, and death by falling is one of the greatest risks. Proper training of every craft professional, coupled with enforcement of safety regulations and standards, is the most effective way to reduce this risk and protect the lives and well-being of the construction workforce.
NCCER’s Fall Protection Orientation is a robust, instructor-led training course designed to increase awareness of job site hazards and mitigate the risk of injury or death from these hazards. This program is ideal for instilling the value of a safety culture.
This module provides an orientation to job site hazards, regulations and standards that govern safe work practices, and fall protection equipment. It includes essential procedures associated with ladders and scaffolds, elevated work environments, the safe use of personal fall-arrest systems, and rescue after a fall.
Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are a vital part of NCCER's Curriculum development process. SMEs are construction and maintenance professionals who have journey-level experience and have experience teaching their trades to others.
