BCSP Foundation Provides Donation to Advance NCCER’s Workforce and Safety Initiatives

08/20/2025 Press Release

Contribution empowers NCCER to address evolving industry needs and expand career opportunities

ALACHUA, Fla.—August 20, 2025—The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) has received an unrestricted donation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals Foundation (BCSP) strengthening their shared commitment to building a safer, stronger construction workforce.

BCSP selected NCCER as a recipient because of the alignment between the organizations’ missions and the opportunity to create meaningful, lasting impact. By making the donation unrestricted, BCSP has provided NCCER with the flexibility to allocate resources where they are most needed to equip more people with the training needed for safe, rewarding careers in construction.

“Our mission has always been to invest in creating and growing a safer global community,” said Christy Uden, CAE, CEO of BCSP. “NCCER’s programs align closely with our commitment to professional advancement, fostering innovation, driving research and inspiring the next generation through youth engagement. This unrestricted support gives NCCER the flexibility to direct resources where and when they are needed most, and we are confident this investment will have meaningful and lasting impact.”

“BCSP’s trust and generosity reflects a deep understanding of what it takes to strengthen the skilled trades workforce,” said Dr. Melissa Perkins, CFRE, Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships for NCCER. “We are deeply grateful for their donation, which will fuel programs that deliver measurable impact. Together, we are expanding career pathways, improving jobsite safety, transforming lives and strengthening communities.”

NCCER will use the contribution to support programs that develop qualified craft professionals, promote construction careers and advance industry safety standards. These efforts are made possible through its philanthropic partnerships. Learn more about these initiatives at nccer.org/nccer-philanthropy.
